Dr Amy Thornton
Dr Amy Thornton is a post-doctoral fellow with SALDRU and ACEIR. She studies topics related to gender, the labour market, and economic demography using survey data and focusing on South Africa. Amy recently submitted her PhD thesis to the University of Cape Town on the subject of household formation in South Africa. Previously she worked as a researcher at the Development Policy Research Unit, also at the University of Cape Town, working mainly on topics related to the South African labour market.
