Prof Nkechi Srodah Owoo
Nkechi S. Owoo is a Full Professor of Economics at the University of Ghana, where she also serves as a research fellow at ACEIR and the Environment and Natural Resource Research Initiative (ENRRI-EfD Ghana). Her research spans gender economics, health and demographic economics, poverty, inequality, and environmental sustainability, with additional interests in spatial econometrics and climate change. She is a non-resident research fellow at the Center for Global Development (Washington, D.C.), the IZA Institute of Labor Economics (Bonn), and the Partnership for Economic Policy (Nairobi). Professor Owoo has served as a consultant to the World Bank, UN agencies, and the Hewlett Foundation, and has published widely in leading international journals such as Population and Development Review, abd Feminist Economics, among others. A recipient of multiple fellowships and research awards, she is deeply engaged in mentoring emerging scholars and advancing gender equality and inclusive development across Africa. Prof. Owoo received her Master's and PhD in Economics from Clark University, Massachusetts, in 2009 and 2012, respectively.
