UPDATE | Registration extended: ARUA Climate Change and Inequalities Symposium, 7 - 8 March 2023
The ARUA Climate Change and Inequalities Symposium on Justice in Transition: Transforming Social Inequalities Through Inclusive Climate Action (TSITICA) will be hosted by the African Centre of Excellence for Inequality Research (ACEIR) and the ARUA Centre of Excellence in Climate and Development (ARUA-CD).
These two centres of the African Research Universities Association (ARUA) are both hosted by the University of Cape Town.
The symposium is an output of ACEIR and ARUA-CD's joint TSITICA project, which had been investigating how climate change action can be socially transformative in three contrasting African countries: Ghana, Kenya and South Africa.
In addition to featuring a high-level policy forum, this symposium is a unique opportunity for transdisciplinary exchange between early career researchers and senior scholars who are contributing significantly to scholarship on poverty, inequality, and climate change with a focus on hyperlocal perspectives in the Global South. Students, researchers, and practitioners are all encouraged to attend.
