The Inequality Trends in South Africa: A multidimensional diagnostic of inequality was published by Statistics South Africa in partnership with ACEIR's South Africa node at the Southern Africa Labour and Development Research Unit of the University of Cape Town; and the Agence Française de Développement as part of the Research Facility on Inequality funded by the European Union.

The launch was followed by a multisectoral stakeholder engagement early in 2020 to apply the report's findings to proposed strategies to reduce inequality in the country.
